Nonprofit Websites - Your Connection for Assistance

Nonprofit Websites – Your Connection for Assistance

With the economy struggling for the last number of years, one thing is certain; traffic going to nonprofit websites is up across the board. If the economic laws of supply and demand were worth their salt one would clearly have seen a huge amount of "supply" provided to meet the ever increasing demand for services, but alas, since there's "no money" in it, supply has actually languished in the face of ever increasing demand. Not because people no longer care, but because demand has simply far outstripped supply.

Charitable contributions are down

Recent publications by organizations are indicating that while demand for charitable services are at or near record historical levels, charitable contributions in general are down approximately 10-11%. Less money coming in to support nonprofit charities at the same time that the need for them is going through the roof. This is at best a difficult social dilemma. At its worst, it is a social nightmare. Many nonprofit websites are feeling the pressure of more and more visitors clamoring for assistance at a time when they are having to cut services to the bone. Hardly the time to think about doing an upgrade on your website, right? Wrong! Now is exactly the time to consider a refresh or an upgrade.

Your website is often the first line of contact

It is often said that, "Necessity is the Mother of Invention!" and today is no different than the day that this phrase was coined. With nonprofit websites regularly being the first line of contact for assistance in today's internet connected world, what better way is there for a charity to be able to provide much needed assistance to their clients than by making sure that their website is easy to navigate, helpful , and populated with current and accurate service information? Already disturb, those in need do not need to be further frustrated with outdated resources that no longer exist or contact numbers that no longer lead to a person that can assist.

Every donor dollar is critical

Switching from looking at the impact that outdated nonprofit websites can have on the client in need to look at the negative impact that a poorly constructed website can have obtaining contributions from donors, one is definitely going to want to make sure that an individual's ability to make a contribution is as easy as possible. Nonprofit websites should have as part of their primary landing page an obvious and fast link to their donor collection page. When at the donor collection page, the prospective donor should be offered a wide variety of options for making their contribution including, but not limited to, the following:

• All major forms of credit and debit cards

• The ability to transfer funds from cash management accounts such as PayPal

• A clear mailing address and instructions on how to make a contribution by check

During these critical economic times, a nonprofit can not allow a major lifeline like their website to become antiquated and less effective than it could be otherwise.

Web Designing: Is Virtual Reality the Future?

Web Designing: Is Virtual Reality the Future?

With Virtual Reality penetrating every aspect of our digital experience – be it gaming or smartphones- it is now time to gauge its scope in web designing. As someone at the helm of a web designing company you’re perhaps busy estimating possibilities. Is VR at all possible in web designing? Is VR the future of web designing? We will explore all that and more-right here!

What will VR websites be like?

You know that a regular 2D website in order to convert into VR, needs to offer users a more immersive and interactive website. If regular videos made for one of the most obvious avenues of immersive experience, VR is going to take on from here. So, if today you’re visiting a website to find out about Egyptian pyramids, today you might as well expect to take a virtual tour of the Egyptian pyramids while seeking information about them.

Taking the 3D perspective in view, you might as well be able to try out a dress that you’re searching on an online store. What more? VR will also empower you to create multiple versions of the same dress and try them out at the same time.

Your immersive experience goes several notches higher when you’re actually checking out the website of a car dealer. Thanks to the integration of Virtual Reality, you can actually go on to test-drive your car, select options and tweak the seating position as per your liking (if at all you need to do that).

Is Web VR the future?

With some of the biggest names – including Sony, Facebook and Google investing in VR, the stakes are actually running high. A credentialed web designing company, once assigned a project will definitely consider the possibility of integrating VR elements in your website.

There are, however, a few experts who believe that Web VR is not going to be a reality – at least not in the nearest future. It’s amazing to think about the potential of trying out dresses in Amazon or test-driving cars, but the technology is not “woven” together through hyperlinks like websites in their current form are.

So, keeping the aforementioned points in view, it can well be opined that though the potential of web VR is huge, we still have to wait some time till it goes big. 2017 may just not be the year. It is very important on your end to educate yourself more about the nuances of Web VR.

Website Designing Traps And Tricks To Avoid Them

Website Designing Traps And Tricks To Avoid Them

Website Designing attracts visitors, visitors increase conversion, conversion ensures your business growth. In short, the growth of your business depends upon the website designing as it plays the most important role in making or breaking your brand image. As we all know every great journey starts with a single step and building your own website is your first step to cover the journey of miles.

It works as a mirror that reflects your personality to the customers and gives them a reason to get connected with your brand. However, just to save some penny, people take the risk and create their website at own and lack of professionalism may actually cost them the way higher than they even think. Some Website Designing Traps in which people get trapped and simple tips to avoid them.

Dearth Of Lucid Vision: Business is a mind game but you have to play all your cards smartly to win the game and for this it is important to have a clear vision. It is quite obvious if you are clear about your goals, then only you make customers trust in your brand. Examine all the avenues with fine-tooth comb and make a wise decision. Lack of vision is the biggest problem that fails you in your strategy and you should make a goal first to successfully conquer it.

Pop Up Windows Wreaks Havoc: Customers satisfaction is a way more important than anything else in the world and if you fail to do so, then you will surely lose them. Therefore, you should make your best possible efforts to provide them great user experience and a sigh of relief from the annoying pop-ups. Yes, Pop Up windows can distract and annoy the visitors and they will leave your website immediately, so don’t get entrapped in any such problem.

No Optimization Means, No Growth: Search Engine Optimization or SEO is crucial and people who think they don’t need to invest their precious money into it are the one who are in the dicey situation. As if your website is not optimized for search engines that mean it has no presence in the eyes of Google and if anything not visible on Google’s first page means there is no way to grow. So, you should start it right away in an order to save your brand value.

So, now you know what are the major slip ups – don’t you? Make your path and focus on avoiding them, so, you can attain the goal you want to.

20 Amazing Free Handwriting Fonts For Your Next Project

20 Amazing Free Handwriting Fonts For Your Next Project

While finding the perfect font combination can make or break a brand, the wrong choice of fonts can send a completely wrong message to the viewers and turn them away. But when a designer blends together different fonts in a harmonious way, the whole brand comes together and invite viewers to explore deeper.

Using handwritten typography in graphic design is not a new trend. In fact, people have used their own handwriting in making posters, announcements, letters, and others before the time of computers. However, because the handwritten fonts add a dash of creativity and an elegant flair to any design when done right, this trend has gained popularity over the recent years. You may use them for many projects, from logo designs and posters to tattoo, badges, packaging, web mockups, greeting cards, wedding invitations and much more, adding this way a personalized and custom-made feeling.

Handwriting fonts have many uses and are best paired with a simple body font for balance. From romantic and feminine swirls to masculine bold monoline fonts, they will add character to any design project, so use them sparingly in order not to overpower your designs, or break the rules and see what you can create.

As a short note, when we talk about handwriting fonts, we’re not just referring to one style of typography; they can come in a number of various executions. They are in the same area as cursive fonts but with even fewer constraints and often based off free-form illustrations.

Here are the best 20 free handwritten fonts for your web and graphic design projects. All are free and available for personal use, most of them are free for commercial use, so enjoy them and let your creativity run.

Habits of Creativity - Brain

15 Habits You Need to Unlock Creativity (+7 Habits to Forget)

This article was contributed by Lesley Vos.

Creativity is the new black. Again. While some research insists you can’t be creative if you don’t have a particular cluster of genes and characteristics of brains, others believe it’s possible to unlock and develop creativity. To do that, consider your lifestyle, mindset, and… habits.

“Others have seen what is and asked why. I have seen what could be and asked why not. ”

― Pablo Picasso

Tons of articles live online, telling about the habits of highly creative people. Psychologists agree on the direct linking between daily routine and its influence on our minds. So, it seems those willing to become ingenious should rethink their customs, develop a positive lifestyle, and forget about habits preventing the awakening of their creative genius.

But what habits actually help to unlock creativity? And how to know if your present lifestyle leaves creativity to be desired?

Good news first:

Make sure to develop these fifteen habits that influence the right brain, responsible for imagination, colors, and creativity in your life. (Well, at least some believe so.)

15 Habits That Help to Unlock Your Creativity

Some also believe that creative people are complex and paradoxical. Long live the stereotypes! Yet, the research suggests that creativity involves many social influences and traits in a person.

These behaviors help to develop creativity and turn it into a daily routine.

So why not give it a try?

1) Wake Up Early

Benefits of early rising speak volumes:

It’s the time when a frontal cortex aka a creativity center of your brain has its peak activity, and that is why many creative thinkers are so productive on mornings.

Benjamin Franklin woke up early to plan out his day. Ernest Hemingway wrote on mornings because it was the time when no one could disturb him. So did Toni Morrison before her children woke up, and Howard Schultz used early mornings to send motivational letters to employees.

How can you develop this habit?

Wake up early every day and don’t take naps, even if tired. It will make you go to bed earlier, and, eventually, you’ll adjust to the schedule and join the team of creative early risers.

2) Go In For Sports

The Stanford study has it: 90% of people are more creative after they physical training. And that’s the reason why many creatives have made sports their daily routine.

Physical exercises stimulate endorphins secretion, giving you the right mood to disconnect for a while and focus on creative tasks afterward. They help to reflect on what you do, avoid stresses, and stimulate positive thinking which is crucial for a creative approach to work.

It doesn’t mean you should run to a gym once you decide to become creative. Yes, push-ups and sit-ups worked for Kurt Vonnegut, but long distance walks could be a worthy alternative to hard cyclic exercises: research proves they increase a brain volume.

Dickens, Beethoven, Muir… They all walked daily to stimulate thinking. Richard Branson moves beyond: he runs on mornings.

3) Read

Books help brains function better: they broaden imagination, enhance empathy, inspire, and even decrease chances to have Alzheimer’s disease! When people read, they train brain muscles and memory for learning out-of-the-box solutions.

Develop a habit of reading daily. It can be fiction books or business literature, whatever. You might also want to check books teaching to unlock creativity and practice the techniques their authors suggest.

Don’t ignore writing practices as well. Freewriting, paraphrase, unsent letters, or long lists — all they work for catching your Muse and generating creative ideas.

4) Travel

Habits of Creativity - Globe

Want to be creative? Travel. A lot. (See Jacob’s travel blog here)

It’s an efficient way to broaden perspectives and have a positive impact on your creativity. But to make it work, don’t simply visit countries but explore them. Make it a habit to learn about their cultures, understand differences in customs and traditions, and make connections to your personal world view.

According to studies, travels enhance flexibility and cognitive complexity. No surprise why so many creatives enjoy it: Ernest Hemingway drew inspiration from Spain and France, Mark Twain sailed around the Mediterranean, and Benedict Cumberbatch had spent a year at a Tibetan monastery and taught English there.

“New sounds, smells, language, tastes, sensations, and sights spark different synapses in the brain,”

Brent Crane writes in The Atlantic. A clear correlation exists between travels and creative output, so open your heart to spending time abroad and exploring everything there.

5) Keep the Schedule

Most creatives schedule their daily routines, debunking the myth about wild and unstructured lives all genius supposed to have. Psychologist William James explains how scheduling impacts creativity: as he says, it

“frees our mind to interesting fields of action.”

Bestselling authors Stephen King and Haruki Murakami support this habit by sticking to a strict writing routine: King doesn’t allow himself to leave the table until he finishes writing 1, 000 words, and Murakami writes from 4 until 9 a.m.

No one says you should plan your every minute. Instead, set 15-20 minutes per day on creative thinking: it’s a good start for newbies.

6) Daydream

Habits of Creativity - Out at Sea

Though some see daydreaming as a negative thing influencing our bad mood and associated with a lack of productivity, neuroscience points to it as a great solution for finding creative approaches to problems.

The 2012 study suggests that daydreaming can help us consolidate memories and enhance long-term decision making, which is more about patience than impulsivity. And the 2013 meta-analysis concludes that it helps to “connect our past and future selves together,” providing with creative inspiration.

So, allow yourself to wander for a few moments during a day, as it can boost creativity faster than your waste efforts to focus.

7) Observe

“Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That’s because they were able to connect experiences they’ve had and synthesize new things.”

— Steve Jobs

Creative people are observers. They watch people around, notice the tiniest details, and take that information for creative expression.

English novelist Thomas Hardy kept a journal to write down everything he saw or heard. So did Joan Didion who noted her observations about people and events. Maybe it’s time to join them and become more attentive to what happens around? Your notes have big chances to turn into creative insights later.

Develop a habit of observing the world and people around it: this is an unlimited source of inspiration and creative decisions.

8) Work From Coffee Shops

Many of us work in one place, believing it’s close to impossible to stay productive in different environments. However, studies show it’s beneficial to creativity.

Did you know that Joanne Rowling wrote the ideas for Harry Potter on a napkin in a train? And what about working from coffee shops, which background noise is proven to help you focus and make you perform better on creative tasks?

Changing the environment brings stimulation that will flourish your creativity. More than that, coffee itself stimulates memory and helps to think positive, increasing a serotonin level in our brains.

So, drink coffee (green tea is great, too) and develop a habit of working in different environments for better creativity.

9) Meditate

The 2012 study says that people practicing open-monitoring meditation are better at generating ideas.

So, little wonder that director David Lynch advocates meditation this much! In his interview with The Talks, Lynch shared his experience, saying that meditation increased the enjoyment of working and “the enjoyment of everything.”

This mental practice also helps to set intentions, become diligent, and expand your awareness. It enables people to tap into what Lynch calls the “ocean of pure vibrant consciousness inside each one of us” by synchronizing remote regions of our brains, so critical for the creative process.

Yoga and mindfulness techniques do the same. So you can try to develop a habit of practicing these mental exercises, too.

10) Procrastinate

Do you know procrastination can have a positive impact on your productivity?

Copywriter Joseph Sugarman suggests that procrastination helps us boost imagination: when you delay a task, it allows to find the best solution later. Also, it improves memory and enhances our ability to think creatively by providing more time for free thinking. Besides, it teaches to find a balance between work and rest.

But to make procrastination work for you, know how to use it to your benefit:

  • Interrupt work in the middle
  • Find time for deep work
  • Work in small sprints

11) Risk

Part of doing creative work is taking risks. Getting out of your comfort zone is a part of it, too.

As Steven Kotler wrote in Forbes, the connection between risk taking and creativity is “deep and meaningful, and it’s one that’s often overlooked.” He tells about Albert Einstein who was an avid sailor though didn’t know how to swim: taking risks equipped Einstein’s brain with ideas for innovations by making long-distance connections, so beneficial to creativity.

And what about the idea of Twitter? Jack Dorsey and his team took the risk to live it out, and they won.

Don’t be afraid of taking risks in various aspects of your life. Still, it stands to reason to avoid jumping off the deep end.

12) Take Naps

It doesn’t mean you should sleep for the whole day to become creative, but make sure to carve out some time for relaxation:

Research has it, naps enhance right brain function (as far as you remember, it’s responsible for creative activity) and improve alertness. So, follow the example of artist Joan Miró who took five-minute naps after lunch; or, gain inspiration from Vladimir Nabokov who included a two-hour nap in his daily schedule — and unlock your creativity.

After all, such a habit is not that difficult to develop, is it?

13) Stop Multitasking

Multitasking is the worst enemy of your creativity and the awful strategy to get more done. In fact, it can damage your brains: you lose focus, lower the quality of work, and can’t hit goals.

If you have a habit of multitasking, give it up as soon as you can. Also, try to avoid interruptions at work: you should be mentally focused to complete tasks, and workplace interruptions take 23 minutes from you each time when appear.

Develop a habit of completing one thing at a time to help your creativity breathe.

14) Spend Some Time Alone

People who are creative feel comfortable in solitude. If it’s not about you, then it’s time to develop a habit of spending some time alone and experience all benefits of such environment.

Being alone means having the mental space to reflect on yourself and your ideas, which is necessary to the creative process. As psychologist Rollo May writes, one should “overcome the fear of being alone” and have the capacity for “constructive use of solitude” to become creative.

“It’s hard to find that inner creative voice if you’re … not getting in touch with yourself and reflecting on yourself,” Scott Barry Kaufman, Ph.D., adds.

15) Have Fun

The proven fact is, having fun increases optimism, improves concentration, and engages the creative brain. It boosts motivation and decreases stress levels, either. That is why a majority of employers give particular emphasis to company cultures and teambuilding activities.

So, don’t be so serious. Make it a habit to fun from time to time.

Also, don’t be afraid of acting like a kid: studies have found it’s a perfect way to unleash creativity, especially if you work in a guideline-ridden workplace. Behave like everything is new to you, and you will come up with creative ideas and unexpected insights.

And now, for the bad news:

Many consider creativity an inherent gift, but it isn’t so. Creative genius snoozes inside of you, and now you know the habits to encourage its awakening. In the meanwhile, other customs might block and kill it! So it happens you struggle for creativity, while some habits of yours struggle against it.

Oops, isn’t it unfair?

What are those habits? What can you do to avoid them?

7 Habits to Forget For Better Creativity

  • Waiting for the right time. If you wait for the right moment to voice opinions or ideas, here goes the news for you: this moment is now. While you’re waiting, others express your ideas right here.
  • Perfectionism. If you want to be creative, forget about perfection. Creative ideas can’t be perfect. You can strive to improve them, but perfection is nothing but an illusion preventing you from actions.
  • Taking everything too seriously. Yes, life is demanding and challenging, but you shouldn’t let those challenges affect you in a negative way. Face them and consider them a chance to get creative with solutions.
  • Comparing yourself to others. Just accept the fact you are different from others, so comparing your ideas to those of colleagues or friends would be silly. You need own standards of creativity and success.
  • Fear of mistakes. They are an inevitable and integral part of a creative process. Make assessing your mistake a habit, get to the root, and start acting differently to find creative solutions.
  • Choosing the first solution. This habit doesn’t motivate you to play with alternatives, therefore killing your creative bones. For creatives, finding one solution is just a beginning of the process.
  • Considering yourself noncreative. Even if your ideas differ from others’, that doesn’t mean others are creative and you aren’t. Don’t be a pessimist, and don’t think negatively about yourself. Don’t kill your creativity in its germ.

Once you identify habits that influence your creativity, it’s time to work with them and change a lifestyle so that your habits could boost spirits and unleash that positive energy for more creative ideas.

After all, we all live once. So let’s make the most of it!

6 Proven (and Inexpensive) Marketing Ways for Promoting Your Dent…

The old saying, “Marketing is the way to success”, holds the same significance today and will continue inspiring people in the future.

The key to business development is hands down, marketing. Whether it is your service or the product, marketing holds the cards to success.

The same holds true for Dental Services. With the Dental Profession growing with each passing day, the competition is practically at its peak every day and the need to better market yourself and your services is necessary, now.

Dental services are no exception. In order to attract people towards your dental services, you need to have some proven and inexpensive marketing ways, that can keep your competitors at bay.

In this SEO course, you’ll find 6 proven and affordable marketing ways that can help you in promoting your dental services.

Before you try these techniques, I would recommend you check out this article about dental SEO dangers which might jeopardize your website’s ranking.

1. Implement Social Media Platforms In Your Marketing

Social Media platforms play a key role in marketing strategies nowadays. Since social media is the most interactive and genuine way to connect with the people all around, the chances of gaining popularity are very likely with a super small amount of effort.

Grab this opportunity and utilize the power of social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, YouTube and Instagram to connect with people and offer your services to them.

Offer them instant solutions to their inquiries and be ultra quick in responding them.

2. Utilize The Power of Your Website

Your website’s presence gives you an edge over your competitors. Your website is the first step towards your branding and offers you a face in the urban jungle. These days, with the advent of newer technology and with the evolution of several CMS, the requirement of the website gets fulfilled within the budget and offers you a chance to have a well-shaped profession in front of your customers.

The Dental Marketing Guy put it best here:

“Most dentists think they have a “website.” But what most dentists actually have isn’t part of a “web” at all! It’s just a “site.” The “web” part of the World Wide Web is a complex form of linking many relevant websites to one another. If your website isn’t getting linked to, you’re not part of that “web.”

Be professional while designing the website and keep important pages, like about you and your skills, patients’ list (keeping in mind, the nondisclosure record of theirs), a way to contact, review section by patients and other such.

3. Use the power of SEO Techniques

After you get a website of yours own, the next step towards your success is SEO. SEO is the only way that can guide your website towards the top of the SERP within a budget.

SEO is, however, a slow (and long-term) process, which can take around 3 months to reflect best results for you, but still, the results are long lasting and are affordable.

Invisalinks Method is a proven way to optimize your dental services. SEO Technique offers a genuine chance to beat out your competitors and allow you to grab the most important customers looking for the dental services in your region of services like California, LA, or NY etc.

4. Patient Referral Bonus System

The Patient Referral Bonus System is the next step towards expanding your influence in the local market. Acting in combination of digital method and traditional mouth to mouth. It can be very useful in getting new customers through existing ones.

The Patient Referral Bonus System acts as the incentive for people, who are already your patients and offers them a reason (a mouth watering reason) to refer your name to others in case of need of dental services.

Dr. Farr from CK Farr Dentistry revealed that their practice has thrived all these years because of wonderful people (their patients) referring all their friends and family.

“Many dental professionals have been told by SEO companies that you must have keywords in your domain name. Dr. Farr in Atascadero, CA has the domain name http://www.ckfarr.com/ and it stands for “CK Farr Dentistry.” Dr. Farr’s website also doesn’t have a great deal of keywords in the content of the website, which goes against the conventional SEO approach of “more keywords is better” that many SEO companies still purport. The fact is, Dr. Farr build his website with a very clean, photography-based appearance and didn’t just create content for SEO. This allows his website to have an emotional impact through video and photography that most SEO-fixated dentists can’t hack. The secret? Dr. Farr started getting cited and linked to from top level dental websites, such as Dental Town and Dentistry IQ. These links allow Dr. Farr to focus on what he does best – Dentistry.”

Reward your existing patients with some discounts and offers, in case they bring in some new faces to your clinic. ‘Use your existing customers to get new ones’ is the simple logic behind this system.

5. Email Marketing

Email marketing is still an option for the business’ exposure to people around you. It is a direct & simple way to communicate with your patients. Email marketing is one of the most trusted & popular online marketing channel available to you.

With the proper database and a well-researched database (with the concentration paid to your region, only), you can adopt this technique with ease and with better-delivering results to expand your business.

All you need is to get a list of emails from the people belonging to your region of services. Email marketing is one of the ways to better expose your business and inform people about your existence.

6. Join Community Profiles

Whatever region you live in or work in, there are always some local forum/ online discussion platforms, where you can get yourself registered, and can offer valuable information to the society. The beneficial part concerning you is the same ‘exposure’.

With you getting an exposure in front of the people while connecting with them, offers you a chance to have an increased business and more popularity.

Online Communities are one of the cheapest ways to connect with the people and build relationships.

Build your online presence with community profiles, available quite easily. Remember, you need to be helpful and must imbibe in a contributing attitude within you to gain popularity.

Your dental business depends upon the number of people who know you. Allot some time in making yourself a name amongst the people and offer them the best services and an affordable ones!

Be open to suggestions from people, read the reviews of your patients and develop and customize accordingly.
